APRIL 2008

WHATS GOING ON????

Hello to All. As we emerge from one of the worst winters on record the question I'm asked most is what's going on with the Club. The answer I find myself giving is ONE word LOTS!!!

To start the season we did the Inland Northwest Motorcycle Show & Sale downtown Spokane. Thanks to the hard work of many members the show was a resounding success. With more Bikes than last year we were the centerpiece of the show. Thanks to all who helped pull this off without a hitch.

Our traditional first event, April Fools Run, was completely snowed out. Yes Snowed out. After watching weather forecasts for a week change from sunny + 50 degrees to snow + rain we got snow and lots of it. Greg Lounsbury called at O dark thirty to inform me they had 3 new inches and still snowing like crazy. After a short discussion common since prevailed and we called it a day. Mother nature had her April fool joke on us.

The Swap Meet is coming up May 3rd. As with all events this year, the Swap Meet will be bigger and better. We have sent representatives to other swap meets to advertise the event and hustle vendors. The Idaho Motorcycle Awareness Day Parade will end at the Swap Meet for the 2nd year in a row. As usual we will have a Motorcycle Show and Kick Start Contest, Live Music will start around 2:00 pm with Hung Phat. Hung Phat is the Band that rocked their socks off at last years North Idaho Abate Spring Opener. So for the paltry sum of $5.00 admission a full days fun will be had. Vendor spaces are $20.00 for 10 X 10 space and include 2 persons entry fee. I encourage all Members to look around for Swap Meet items and rent a booth. I also encourage all Members to spread the word for vendors as well as riders. Give me a holler for flyers and vendor information. Any questions about the Swap Meet should be directed at my self, Bob Morrill or Cooper.

June 14th is Putt Around the Pond. After Putt Around the Pond we are planning to have a meeting to ratify the new by laws we have been working on all winter. They are a better, more concise and clearer set of By-Laws based on the earliest set of articles of incorporation signed by Neil Cooper, Bonnie Cooper and Lee Olson in November of 1990. Members who would like to view the proposed By-Laws should contact Bob Morrill or Myself for a copy. We would appreciate the input. Nuff said.

The Club has been asked to do an exhibit at Rodeos in Republic, Spokane, and Springdale. The club will be compensated for these exhibits. Also we are organizing Ride in Shows at Republic and Springdale. These are also compensated, monies the Club will use for future fun and events. Bob Morrill is the point man on the exhibits.

To sum it up, after a long cold, wet, and snowy winter the fun is about to start. So Roll'em out. Service them up and get ready for the busiest, classicist and most fun season the Northwest Classic Motorcycle Club has ever had. You, the members, asked to do more shows, and to get paid to do them .Now we have a chance to do just that. We, your Officers and Board Members, have delivered. Now it is your job, no your responsibility, to get Involved and make it a success. It all rests on your shoulders to get it done.

Thanks Your Prez
