Neil Cooper "Mr. Indian"
Neil Cooper (Mr. Indian) (Age 87) passed away May 27, 2005 at
Pinewood Care Center, Coeur d’ Alene, ID. He was born on August 5, 1917
in Plains, Montana to Arthur J. and Alberta Dorris Cooper. Neil
graduated from Coeur d’Alene High
School in 1936. Neil married Dorothy
in 1938, she preceded him in death. Neil married Bonnie (Raupe) Dennison
on November 9, 1979.
He lived in Coeur d’ Alene most of his life. He was a mechanic and also
worked for the Department of Lands. Neil was a member of the Northwest
Classic Motorcycle Club, Coeur d’ Alene Eagles AMCA (motorcycle club),
and at one time, he raced limited hydroplanes. He also did stock car
racing, hill climbing, and motorcycle racing. Neil is survived by his
wife, Bonnie at their home; two sons, Tom of Coeur d’ Alene, ID, A.J. of
Lewiston, 10; daughter, Judy King, Liberty Lake, WA; two sisters, Ora
Parker, Kennewick, WA, Jean Thompson, Spokane, WA; seven grandchildren;
eight great-grandchildren; step-children, Jeff Tefft, Joel Tefft, Janene
Tefft, Ann Butler, Earl Dennison and Ben Dennison. Preceded in death by
two sisters, Norma and Marie; and an infant son. A celebration of Neil’s
life was held Saturday, June 4th,
